Ophthalmology Department of Liaocheng People's Hospital was established in 1950. It is a key clinical specialty in Shandong Province. There are 16 academic backbones above the deputy senior, among whom 5 are majoring in fundus diseases, 4 director physician,1 assistant director physician; 6 are majoring in oblique amblyopia and optometry,2 director physician, 4 assistant director physician;2 are majoring in glaucoma, 1 director physician,1 assistant director physician; 2 assistant director physician are majoring in cataract; 2 are majoring in eye plastic and eyelids, 1 director physician,1 assistant director physician; 2 are majoring in corneal and ocular surface diseases, 1 director physician,1 assistant director physician. There are 9 intermediate titles and 11 junior titles. In 2007, Taishan Medical College began to train Postgraduates of ophthalmology. At present, there are 12 Postgraduates of ophthalmology. In 2013, it became the teaching and scientific research base of the Academy of Ophthalmology, Capital Medical University. In 2014, it became the first batch of standardized resident training bases in China. In 2014, the Joint Laboratory of Transformational Medicine Research, Liaocheng People's Hospital, Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences was established. It is the cataract rehabilitation base of Shandong Province, and the cataract treatment center of "Healthy Express" of the State Health Planning Commission. At present, 120 beds are prepared, 94 980 outpatients per year, 3945 operations per year and 3610 discharges per year.

    Glaucoma Specialty: Professor Gao Jianlu, doctor of ophthalmology, Liaocheng Eye, Otolaryngology Hospital, visiting scholar of Munich University, Germany, is the subject leader. He did postdoctoral research in Beijing Tongren Ophthalmological Center from 2008 to 2010. He was taught by Professor Wang Ningli, a famous glaucoma expert in China. He studied the dynamic changes of anterior chamber in angle-closure glaucoma. The pathogenic genes of open-angle glaucoma have been deeply studied, and a set of mature individualized diagnosis and treatment methods have been formed, which has more mature experience in the prevention and treatment of malignant glaucoma. Laser therapy routinely carries out laser iridectomy, laser trabeculoplasty, ciliary body photocoagulation, etc. In addition to routine compound trabeculectomy, phacoemulsification cataract aspiration combined with angle separation or trabeculectomy, trabeculotomy, drainage valve implantation, etc. The treatment of neovascular glaucoma adopts a series of techniques such as anti-vascular drugs, whole retina photocoagulation and drainage valve implantation. Binocular external trabeculotomy was successfully performed for 7-day-old newborns. National and provincial continuing education courses on glaucoma have been held for many times. It is a base for diagnosis and treatment of complicated and difficult cases of glaucoma in Hebei, Shandong and Henan. It receives about 7000 outpatients, 500 inpatients and 900 operations annually.

    Cataract Specialty: It is one of the earliest modern cataract surgery units in China. Besides conventional cataract surgery, it has rich experience in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital cataract, lens dislocation, complicated cataract and other difficult cases. The application of new phacoemulsification technology and the recovery of visual function after cataract surgery has reacheded domestic advanced level. In recent years, combined with wavefront aberration and corneal topography, a series of refractive cataract surgery techniques including iris septum intraocular lens, aspheric intraocular lens, astigmatic intraocular lens, multifocal intraocular lens and adjustable intraocular lens have been developed. It is a diagnosis and treatment base for complicated and difficult cataract cases in Hebei, Shandong and Henan areas, with about 3000 cataract operations per year. In 2014, it undertook the task of "Health Express" rehabilitation of the State Health Planning Commission, and operated on 1501 poor cataract patients, which was praised by the masses.

    Fundus Disease Specialty: External retinal reattachment has been carried out in ophthalmopathy specialty as early as 1970's. Professor Zhang Jun, who is the leader of ophthalmopathy specialty, tutor of master's degree students and member of ophthalmopathy group of Shandong Medical Association, is one of the earliest ophthalmopathy specialists in our province to carry out vitreoretinal surgery. At present, it has advanced equipment such as OCT, FFA/ICGA, fundus photography, multi-wavelength laser, RETCAM fundus imaging system for children, Zeiss Lumera-T operating microscope, panretinoscopy, Alcon high-speed vitrectomy instrument, 23G, 25G vitreous surgical instruments and so on. It has formed a relatively perfect prevention and treatment system for diabetic retinopathy, a screening and treatment system for retinopathy of premature infants, and a diagnosis and treatment system for intraocular neovascularization diseases. TTT, PDT, retinal photocoagulation, intraocular injection, minimally invasive vitreoretinal surgery, intraocular photocoagulation, condensation, intraocular gas and silicone oil filling, intraocular foreign body removal, internal limiting membrane tear, retinal incision and subretinal membrane removal were routinely carried out. In recent years, new technologies such as implantation of intraocular tumors, interventional thrombolysis of central retinal artery occlusion and carotid endarterectomy for ocular ischemic syndrome have been successfully developed. It has become a base for the prevention and treatment of difficult vitreoretinal diseases in our city and surrounding areas. Each year, about 15,000 outpatients are treated and about 900 are operated.

    Oblique amblyopia and optometry Specialty: As early as the 1970s, strabismus, amblyopia and optics have taken shape. After more than 40 years'efforts by Xu Yongshan, Zhang Zhiqiong and Li Xiangjing, we have a strong team of talents and a mature technical system. Especially in recent years, Dr. Yang Dongsheng, who has 17 years'working experience in the National Institutes of Health, the University of Pittsburgh and Akron Children's Hospital, has been introduced as the subject leader, and many clinical examination and treatment projects have reached the international frontier level. In strabismus and amblyopia, pressured prism correction, parks incision horizontal and vertical strabismus surgery, nystagmus correction, rotational strabismus correction, rectus muscle displacement, conjunction, tilt, transposition, botulinum toxin therapy are routinely carried out. It can deal with various complex and difficult cases, such as thyroid-related ophthalmopathy strabismus, orbital fracture strabismus, orbital myositis-type inflammatory pseudotumor, extraocular muscle fibrosis syndrome, congenital abnormal innervation of cranial nerve disease, fixed strabismus, etc. Surgical treatment of albinism nystagmus fills the gap in China, and it is the first non-surgical treatment of nystagmus at home and abroad. Non-surgical treatment of small angle strabismus and reconstruction of binocular vision function have advanced international technology. In the treatment of amblyopia, it has the characteristic treatment technology of independent intellectual property rights. The patients come from 23 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, with an annual outpatient service of about 10,000 people and about 300 operations.

In the field of optometry, we have systematic optometry theories, and routinely carry out evaluation of visual function of infants and adults, medical optometry, various contact lenses and adhesion glasses, various corneal refractive surgery, endoscopic implantation and scleral reinforcement. It is able to perform visual function evaluation for children under 1 year old and digital graphic vision examination for children 2-4 years old. Individualized corneal refractive surgery guided by corneal topography and aberration was carried out earlier in the province. Full-femtosecond laser microincision matrix lens extraction (SMILE) was first carried out in jin-lu-yu region, and corneal stromal lens transplantation was successfully implemented. The annual outpatient volume is about 20,000 person and the number of surgeries is about 1,500.

Ophthalmology and Orbital Specialty: Major technical strengths are all in the top-ranking in China for further study in ophthalmology and orbital specialty. With the strong cross-advantages of imaging, pathology, radiotherapy and chemotherapy of tumors, interventions, otorhinolaryngology, neurology and other disciplines in provincial regional centers, besides routine blepharoptosis correction, blepharoptosis syndrome correction, and ophthalmos are carried out. In recent years, besides correction of entropion, correction of medial canthus deformity, double eyelid plasty and pouch reconstruction, we have carried out orbital tumors removal through conjunctival approach, nasal dacryocystorhinostomy, orbital wall fracture repair, orbital decompression, orbital tumors radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which represent the advanced level in our country. It makes our hospital become the diagnosis and treatment center of difficult orbital diseases in hebei, shandong and henan areas.
